Autumn is a wonderful time of year for exploring transitions in our lives and to look at letting go of the things that no longer serve us. Join Josette Coulter (The Yoga Tree) and Heather Gunn McQuillan (Nature Space Yoga) for a yoga, mindfulness, and soul nourishing retreat at Cabot Shores, in Cape Breton, NS. Using the healing arts, music, nature, yoga, and mindfulness, we will lead participants through an examination of the transformational periods of loss and change in their lives. In this beautiful, natural setting, surrounded by the changing colours of fall, participants will be encouraged along an introspective and creative journey to help let go of old energies and move into the quiet winter season with a sense of calm, peace, and serenity.

*Yoga- Evening yoga tends to be quieting to help promote rest and will be in the style of yin or yoga nidra. Morning yoga will be more energetic. All yoga is based around the healing arts and may include meditation, essential oils, touch, or massage.

** Lunch on this day will be a bagged lunch that hikers can have along the trail. Those staying behind can eat in the lodge or on the grounds. Please note that this hike is fairly challenging and includes elevation and an uneven foot bed. She has been a student of the healing arts for over 20 years where she has studied yoga & mindfulness, thai yoga massage, reiki and shamanism. Let the magic begin….

16fb54dc-dc9f-4057-98a5-7d6d7dc6fe09.jpegHeather Gunn McQuillan ~ is the owner of Nature Space Yoga in Morell, PEI. Heather is a registered yoga teacher, certified as a meditation and mindfulness instructor, and trained in mental health first aid and suicide intervention. Music and art have been an integral part of Heather’s life. A trained opera singer, Heather’s students regularly comment on the soothing quality of her “yoga voice” and she also plays piano and guitar.

Heather is a seasoned educator and facilitator. In addition to being a yogi, she is a veterinarian and has been teaching vet students at the Atlantic Veterinary College since 2010. Heather was drawn to becoming a yoga teacher to further her own practice and to share the gifts of yoga and mindfulness with others. Spurred to action by the crisis in veterinary wellness, she wanted to improve and promote wellness both within and outside of the veterinary college. In addition to working to build a veterinary wellness curriculum, she has been thrilled to facilitate private and corporate wellness workshops. She is deeply committed to life-long learning, and has advanced training and certifications in leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and wellness. Her proudest designation and most challenging accomplishment to date is MoT (mother of two).naturesource2

When Heather reflects on the transitions in her own life, motherhood was perhaps the most significant, and mindfulness, yoga, creativity and nature therapy helped her navigate that life changing experience. She also found strength from yoga and mindfulness, during her father’s battle with cancer and death in 2016. Heather’s partner of 23 years, Jarrod, has been by her side through numerous transitions and all of the ups and downs of this messy, beautiful life.
